Te Reo Maori macrons in Samsung Galaxy

Te Reo Maori macrons in Samsung Galaxy

Samsung Galaxy 4

Samsung Galaxy 4 has several default common languages that do not include Māori or other language to create macrons.

To install Māori and other languages, the easiest method is to install an app from Google Store. Latvian is the only language currently available that will create and recognise macrons.

  1. Install any soft keyboard from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.menny.android.anysoftkeyboard&hl=en
  2. Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the notification tray.
  3. Tap the settings gear icon in the top-right.
  4. Tap the My Device tab at the top.
  5. Tap Language and input under the Input and control subheading near the bottom.
  6. Select the gear icon next to anysoftkeyboard
  7. Select Keyboards
  8. Search for add-ons
  9. Select Latvian

Kia ora! Crazy that we have to download the Latvian language (no offence Latvia) to be able to write i te reo Maori! Thankyou so much for this post. The only thing is it does not have the ” o” macronised. Suggestions? Would be much appreciated. Ngā mihi

      Kia ora,
There are a few keyboards now for te reo. I can’t recommend any as I am not familiar with them yet.

apparently if you copy an ā from any website and then you can go to settings and install it onto your ‘my hot keys’ this way when you hold the key down, it will show. this is for a samsung.
